What happen to getting an auto Allison? Stick is ok..you'll have to rig up a clutch peddle...I would go with a hydro clutch system would make it much easier to rig everything up.
Motor looks good.
Well the purpose of my post was not to start a BS session on who can post what is this an add etc (which BTW is getting old and is turning me off to SS, but that's another discussion for another time.) The purpose of my post was to say hey I've looked around and this seems to be what I'm...
That's cool....That will be a differnt look than regular OD military. Restoring it to it's second life after it was retired from the military. That's cool! Nice repair job on the bed! Keep up the good work!
@OL AG'89 did a search that's how I found out that nobody is manufacturing 16.5 inch tires anymore for public sale. Not Goodyear Goodrich etc etc. Most offroad companies now suggest going to a 17 inch rim. So though I work with computers everyday I'm not the best web searchers I thought I would...
Hi, I've been researching the 37x12.5Rx16.5 tire and it seems that nobody is making that size tire anymore. It is either a 16 inch or it seems that everyone has stepped up to 17 inch. Other than used tires which I would think would dry up over time (ok maybe in 20 years who knows) is there a...
do you have the -20 manual? Read the troubleshooting section for low read on the altinator gauge and follow the steps to find the problem. If charging correctly the needle should be hitting the white line in the middle of the green section. Also the manual will show you how many wires are...
That looks good GF. The starter you could set it to push a momentary contact switch and that would engage the starter relay to start the truck. No real linkage involved. What are you going to rig up for the glow plugs?
Automatic trans with a Chevy adaptor you have the Th400 or the 4L80E (but then you have to play with electronics....maybe not a bad option though if you want a "modern" driveline. Again I believe there are adaptors to hook up the Allison transmission also.
Sometimes having a choice is not a...
I vote for training device simulator. The faux tank seems the most logical to me. Training doesn't stop just because you don't have all the equipment. You make do with what you have or what you can make. During Desert Storm the Coast Guard Port Security unit had to qualify shooting a M2 off...
Air over hydraulic is still a hydraulic brake system. If the air pack failed one in thereory could still stop the truck though you would have to stand up in the cab and jump on the brake peddle to do so.... But since it is not and air system but and air assist system most states and DOTs view...
Thanks for posting the link cucvnut! I was wondering if anyone was making them now. I just wish they weren't so dang expensive. I think it is a pick your poison kind of thing on chian vrs gear. I may go with the gear on my motor to me it just gives me peice of mind.
Well even if you go with a different motor than the cummins you still need to get the old motor out of the way....so eitherway that's a task that needs to get done.
is the Cummins motor hooked to an auto or a stick transmission? If it is auto then I would put the whole engine, trans and transfer into the truck. Move the GMC transfer case back and use the transfer case from the dodge to give you high low range. If it's stick then well.... either put a...
Loved seeing that big old flywheel spinning around. Next is trans and drive shafts and you'll be able to move it under its own power.... :) Keep up the good work!
It's looking good! Check your headlight grounds. 95% of vehicle lighting problems are from bad grounds! Make sure your grounds are tights and you have internal/external tooth washers on under the bolt head or screw head and one under the nut. Get good contact.
What transmission are you wanting to use? Could the duce trans be made to mate to the MB motor? The five speed trans (3054 or something like that?) to a devorced NP205 to replace the 200 and the MB diesel I would think would make one **** of a truck.
