I tow one with my M923 and when looking out the mirrors I can't see it. It is the same width as a HMMWV and they fit in an M923 bed. So by these two observasions I would have to say "Yes it fits in an M923 bed."
I have jumped my M923 from 2 trucks that were 12v. Hook one to one 12v pair and the other to the other 12v pair. This does require 2 sets of cables. Run both vehicles at about 13-1500 rpm for 5-10 minutes the try to start the truck. This did work for me and the batteries charged back up driving...
If they had coolant going through the exhaust from the head gasket and didn't replace the O2 sensors they will have problems. You may replace the B1S2 O2 sensor and retest before a cat. If you have access to a scanner look at the voltage on that sensor. If it is fluctuating as fast as the B1S1...
My 2009 M1101 that is like new and my 1984 M105A2 that was O/H in 2009 and is like new. There is a cover for the M105 also. I will be putting an S250 shelter in the M1101.

Your friend probably bought MRAP wheels/tires. I think the HEMMT wheels are the same as the % tons but they have 16.00/20 tires. So I would say you need to stick with 800 or 939 series wheels.
Do the Allison MT654CR transmissions in the M939 series of trucks have retarders in them? I have seen talk about them being equipped but not hooked up for operation. Is this true and if so what is needed to make functional? It sounds to me that this and an exhaust brake would be helpful when...
