    Jump start 931a2

They are NOT 6 volt batteries. They are 4 12 volt batteries. You have 2 batteries wired in parallel X2 then the 2 sets are wired in series. I did the same thing. I had one Toyota P/U cabled to one set and a Toyota 4runner cabled to the other set, revved both trucks for about 5 minutes and my...

M939 What Fluid for Trans/Pwr Stg?

Do what you feel is right for YOUR truck. As for me, 15W40 in engine, P/S fluid in P/S, 10wt in trans and PTO hydro, 80w90 in diffs and T-case. This should never cause any problems due to fluids. I found that 10wt is a lot less money than Dex III. Besides, if it was good enough for the military...

Finding year for M939A2 trucks for SF97

That ID# is very close to the one I'm parting out. I would say you have a '91 as that is what mine has for delivery date. Also, I haven't seen a BMY M932 older than that. Now that doesn't mean there aren't older ones, just haven't seen one listed on GL or anywhere else.

They are not an up armored up grade. Just roll over protection.

    Pulling off steering wheel

1st, I did read the TM. With that said here is my question. Can a 939 series steering wheel be pulled with out the special tools and not cause any damage? If so what is the trick? The one in my M923 is in pretty bad shape but the one in my M932 parts truck is a very nice one. Also, does anyone...

    Ugly as sin

When will all those extra cabs they produced and never fitted come to GL? I would take one for the seats and reconfigured dash and battery relocation stuff. Some where I saw a pic of a bunch sitting in storage.

    Thunderbird's M923A2 thread

I guess that the M923 will prove to her your redneckedness. LOL Your in it deep aren't you?

    Thunderbird's M923A2 thread

Drive your pick up to Nellis and use a loading dock to put it in the back of the M923 and tie it down. I've seen that done before. The truck looks nice and the sandbags are priceless. LOL

    M925 wheels

The A0 and A1 NHC250 feels to me to have more bottom end grunt, but the 8.3 turbo is suppose to get better mileage. I test drove a M923A2 and then a M923A0 and my preference was for the A0 with the NHC250(855ci cummins) If you can I would recommend test driving the two different engines and then...

    M925 wheels

I find duals feel more stable, and a flat on a dual may not require immediate attention, singles weigh about 500 lbs each and the 11.00x20s about half that. But it really falls to personal preference. I have 11.00x20s but admit the 14.00x20s look cooler.

    Potential Rocky Mtn Rally

I have interest as I'm in northern Utah and would like and excuse for a road trip in the M923. Is target shooting a choice?

What would cause/allow all 6 tires to deflate when CTis is supposed to be inflating?

I don't have CTIS on my M923 but some of the CTIS is still on my M932A2 parts truck. The more I see these threads concerning the problems with the CTIS, the more I like my glandhand air hose. I don't think I would want the system and if I had it I would keep it until it failed then remove/bypass...

Mud flaps on the M939 Tractor

Utah requires mud flaps on ALL trucks from mini(like Toyota) and up. All GVW's doesn't matter. Lack of them WILL get you a ticket here.

Need to know this problem and how to fix it TODAY!

True, TH400 has no lockup. Forgot the CUCV's are TH400's. Sorry about that. But to answer, a lockup solenoid can be changed in vehicle.

Need to know this problem and how to fix it TODAY!

If it is restarting without any trouble you may have a lockup solenoid sticking in the trans. This would stall the truck because the torque will be locked. Similar to stopping a manual trans without pushing in the clutch. A way to test this is to put it in neutral before stopping, if it doesn't...

    20K winch weight

That works out to 1100 lbs. I find that hard to believe, seems a little light.

    20K winch weight

I pulled the winch with bumper and frame extensions off of my M932A2 parts truck last weekend. Man that thing has some weight. I'm curious if anyone knows what it weighs? We used a F350 Ford wrecker boom to pull it. It did the job well but we could tell there was some serious weight to it, and...

    Storage / Parking

My M923, M105A2, and M932A2 parts truck are parked in the impound lot of the towing company I drive for part time. Plenty of room but I really don't think they'll let me put too many out there. They don't charge me storage which is a big bonus, I consider that a perk of being the wrecker operator.

    Blinker issue has me stumped...

The brakes will override the hazard lights and that part is normal. What you are describing does sound to me like a bad T/S flasher. Was it replaced with the proper one? There are at least two different ones that look the same and plug in the same. %%@ is one of them.
