You won't be disappointed. I have one and it makes the one I've been taking to the rally look like a joke. Also, they now have an M18 Mag Drill. It's $2300 but would make a good retirement gift from me to me.
Let me add this caveat. Unless the mechanic has gray hair, I would shop for a second opinion. Despite the simplicity of the M880, today's youthful mechanics may be clueless staring at a Dana 44 or even a 203 transfer case.
Well, finally underway with the trans swap on my SECM. When I pulled the cluster out I was greeted with a destroyed printed circuit. New one is being shipped in. The question is can I start this sucker up to move it across the yard?
Thanks
Check with member BobH. He is in MI and might still have some laying about. Another MI member had a bunch of remans but his screen name escapes me. His first name is Lane. I'd at least get a PM to Bob before I commit to anything.
No offense to you Drew or anyone else that has one of these but it looks like it fell from the top of the Ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. Would look perfect behind an M35A3.
True and maybe not so true. Physically it's the same part but once a bearing and race break in together, it's best to keep them together.. Like lifters on a small block. All the same but it's quite important to keep them with the same lobe for max endurance.
It's going to be your choice. I didn't serve but keep mine looking mostly original. Consider it a tribute truck. I usually opt for some loud colored shirt to wear when I drive it so folks don't think it's official business.
I meant pics of the truck and the first few of the VIN. Wanted to confirm that it was a CUCV. My guess is swapped over parts. How many civilian owners before you? The right side fuel door is a dead giveaway. CUCVs never had that.
Post pics and the first half of the VIN. The Air Force had a bunch of square body trucks painted strata blue. All.of these parts are and likely were interchanged with the CUCV.
