M35a2 and 105 trailer shipped from TN to Ohio

Be cheaper to drive it up and pay for the ride home. That is going to take a full flatbed (if you have a dock at each end) or a lowboy.... and they get more per mile. $3 per mile is a good starting point. A hotshot may get you down to mid $2/mile if you want to risk it.

    GL's Responsibility to Verify Bidders?

Shill bidding is not really whats going on. Unless you can prove it. Every internet auction runs the risk of a non-paying bidder. And as mentioned getting a GL account is not a huge deal, no more than filling out a form online. It could be a 15 year kid just pressing buttons, or a guy with a...

    Thread reply to short?

The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 3 characters. I have been getting this message fairly consistantly. Different threads, different forums. And yes, there were more than 3 characters in my reply. Firefox/WIndows Vista.

    Bounce bounce?

If you put these back on your truck you will have scuffing issues as the diameter of these tires are significantly less than the others. For a 4 tire vehicle its not a big deal, for dual tire axles its a HUGE deal. Your tires will be fighting each other on every RPM until they all wear down...

    Bounce bounce?

Make sure your tires are all within 1/4 inch diameter. All the same tire pressure (part of PMCS). MV owners run ratty tires and wonder why the ride sucks. Some mechanical things to check: Front tie rods, king pin bearings and toe in. Trunnion bearing and dog bones for wear. These tires don't...

    Emergency help with dead deuce

Its more about the % of fuel vs junk. You are more likely to suck rust when the ratio of fuel to rust is high (as in an empty tank). If the primary filter can 'catch' 1 lb of crud, but the fuel/crud dilution is low, the filter will not clog very fast. Increase the amount of crud you pump to...

    Oil Leaks

The 1st picture, the passenger side wheel on the middle axle looks wet. Or is it just the light? If that rim is wet, start there.

    GL's Responsibility to Verify Bidders?

My current M35a2 was a 'second time round' truck because the first winner defaulted. I think a good solution would be unless you post a bond, you can only spend $x per week/auction cycle (however GL does it). Not many people would ever need 9 trucks per week. If you are a business then...

    F-35, first catapult launch

The F-35 is a solution in search of a problem. The Eagle, Falcon and Hornet are still top tier fighters. With UAV fighters in the immediate future why did we line the pockets of the defense contractors for a jet that will not have half the lifetime of the F15/16/18. Its a neat video.. but I'd...

    GL's Responsibility to Verify Bidders?

I think that GL is in a no win situation with some people. What option do they have other than enforce the terms they post on the site? I don't really buy the 'favorite son' theory without any proof. I would think that the BEST thing they could do is charge a bid fee of 10% of the bid. That...

    Free Fuel for the Deuce?

Yeah, I video would be great. If your compressor cannot supply enough air then how is it operating at above specified flow? If you have a decent shop with 'standard' garage tools then yeah, you can get down to less than $500. But if you have a wimpy compressor then you are looking at an...

    Free Fuel for the Deuce?

You are making a NON-ARGUMENT with NON-FACTS. I *NEVER* made any statement against the piston pump.. only the ones that had OBVIOUS issues in either flow rating or operation. Attack me for not cirticizing something that has nothing to criticize against? Run with that. I will say that...

    Free Fuel for the Deuce?

The air pump I listed has a max of Maximum GPM: 14.00 that PER MINUTE!!!! 14*60= 840 gallons per hour. So as I said, a good air pump is $300-500. Unless you have an hour to stand there and pump out a single drum?

    Free Fuel for the Deuce?

FAIL! "Output, Gallons Per Minute 1.7" If you can get the rated capacity out of this I want to see a video.

    Free Fuel for the Deuce?

This air operated barrel pump fits drums with 1-1/2" or 2" openings and will transfer approximately 12 gallons per hour of oil and other non-corrosive fluids. The 40" long x 1-1/4" suction tube provides ample reach into the barrel. The pump has a 10 PSI maximum working pressure and safety...

Lug nuts (and how to bust your own)

The biggest issue is that none of your tires are going to have the same torque on every bolt. So far I've changed/removed 8 tires and 6 of the 8 required an impact wrench. The first two tires I removed (was to clean out gear oil that blew through the hub seals) came off with little more than...

    Free Fuel for the Deuce?

While I generally am not a HF or Northern Tool hater, I would not use any of their pumps. I tried 2 and both went back within two days. These are what I would consider baseline: Enco - Guaranteed Lowest Prices on Machinery, Tools and Shop Supplies Handles small solids (trash in the bottom of...

    Free Fuel for the Deuce?

New barrel pumps are $300-500, used can be a bargain or need major repair. You *could* spend less, but waste more time rigging, fixing and making it work. If you added up everything you spent you would probably have closer to $500 in it than you think. But if you have a source for $100 barrel...

    Free Fuel for the Deuce?

Cheap is relative. A good filter system with a decent capacity looks like you will spend about $800- $1,000. Unless you are in the boonies and can have dozens of 55 gallon drums laying about, you need tanks. $100 a pop. A good motor and transfer pump $250, and a filter setup $50-500. Then...

Need advice for a 500 mile trip in a deuce.

There is nothing rare or special about a box truck. Tell the guy you will pay $5500 if he delivers it RUNNING to your door. Otherwise RUN, RUN FOREST RUN! Not a good price. Its not even a running truck.
